Cynical music critic Mary, who has never gotten over her failed marriage, refuses to open her heart again. But when she gets stuck on a cross-country road with her mother’s lapdog, Binky, her heart begins to soften and eventually she manages to not only love the dog but to find room in her heart for her suburbanite sister and her patient boyfriend, Jake.
